Notes

• Fan is Chinese, born and bred, but came to Japan for Duel Academia (since he preferred that school to the academy in China). Despite only coming so recently, he's perfectly fluent in Japanese (reading and writing, but only kanji) and comfortable with honorifics. However, he tends to prefer using first names rather than surnames (though he'll always use the proper honorific) and has to be asked or reminded that he needs to switch. This is only for his piers; he's still fine when it comes to adults.
  
  
• When he gets nervous, he tends to ramble. A lot. Whatever comes to mind, whatever he thinks, it just all spills out in this stream of consciousness, which inevitably means he can say things wrong or phrase things in way they come out wrong, which he'll try to correct, which leads to more rambling... If Fan is talking non-stop, it's a sign of his nerves (good or bad), and he might need a gentle nudge to get him to actually breathe and relax a little.
  
  
• He's a lot like the positive depictions of a "popular high school girl". Energetic and bubbly, often smiles and always friendly, sweet as spun sugar and meaning every minute of it. He always tries to treat everyone in the same nice way, and is pretty fast to forgive -- a bit too fast, in a lot of cases, as it's resulted in him being hurt from repeat offenders. He's a very demonstrative person, though, and thus when he's hurt, it's pretty obvious. The most he might do is hold back tears, but they'll come out as soon as he feels safe or is alone.
  
  
• His way of speaking is also fairly graceful and proper... except he'll say whatever he's thinking without much of a filter. Anything from innocently asking someone if they have a crush to asking a person outright if they're a corpsefucker.
  
  
• He's very into fashion, and as such, usually appears dressed up and in very fancy clothes (both masculine and feminine). His clothes mean a lot to him and someone intentionally destroying them can hurt him extremely badly (though even if he's upset at accidents, he isn't upset at the person doing it).
  
  
• They aren't the most important thing, however, and he's all too happy to get dirty in them. They can just be cleaned, after all! No big deal.
